CHAMPION JOCKEY RUBY Walsh will not require surgery after breaking his leg in a fall at Punchestown on Saturday.
38-year-old Walsh was on Willie Mullins’s Let’s Dance when he suffered the fall, and was treated on the track before being transferred to Naas hospital for X-rays.

He had fallen twice already on this card before the incident took place and was expected to link up with Champion Hurdle hero Faugheen in the Morgiana Hurdle on Sunday.
Walsh is now facing a lengthy recovery but Turf Club chief medical officer Adrian McGoldrick says that Walsh will not have to undergo surgery for his injury.
Speaking to Press Association, he said: “The leg doesn’t require surgery, which is very reassuring. It’s in a plaster cast.
“It’s too early to say how long he’ll be out for. He’ll have X-rays again in a week’s time and we’ll see what’s what. We just have to be guided by his consultants.”
A previous version of this article stated that Ruby Walsh would require surgery for his injury, which is incorrect.
